About a 12-minute walk from JR Minami Chitose Station (North Exit) Shuttle service from the airport to the rental station available (about 10 to 15 mins) Domestic Terminal: Shuttle services are only available during the opening hours (subject to change). Go to our counter by the No.3 Arrival Gate on the 1F. If no staff stationed, please use the phone on the counter to call the rental shop. Original Japanese Driving Licence
Original driving licence + IDP ( issued under the 1949 Convention)
It is required to carry the original IDP issued by a government-authorized agency in the version of the 1949 convention, in the A6-sized booklet paper format, and the number of seats of the rented vehicle should comply with the driving category authorized by the IDP.
Taiwan Driving License in China + Japan Translation
For customers with driver's licenses issued in Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Slovenia, Monaco and Taiwan are allowed to drive vehicles only when they carry both the original license issued in the above countries/regions and a Japanese Translation of such issued by JAF, or foreign embassies or consular offices in Japan.
If you use automated immigration gates, please ask staff for an entry stamp/seal; without it, car rental is not permitted. Vehicles cannot be rented with a MyNa Menkyo alone—an original Japanese driver’s license is required, and ETC rental is unavailable. For residents registered in Japan, re-entry within 3 months does not reset the landing date for international license validity.
